the news bug

the past few days, i've been thinking a lot about journalism. i know i'm where i want and need to be. but with all the news coming out of illinois surrounding blago's corruption charges, i'm feeling a little left out. even though i know i would never be a great journalist, the journalism bug will never leave me. the excitement of breaking news. can't get enough of it. i've thought about don & carol a lot the past few days. i know they're busy, having the time of their lives, but also extremely tired. i saw carol on cnn tonight, in an interview on anderson cooper. i've read a few of her stories and watched a few clips online. those two never cease to amaze me. the fact that i'm lucky enough to know them, let alone have had the pleasure to work for them, escapes me at times. i forget how professional and big they are. but anytime there's a breaking news in chicago, i always think of them.

ecuador has been on my mind the past few days as well. i see a street vendor, or hear a honking bus and it makes me miss it. i don't think this will ever go away.
